Summary "The Pedestrian" offers a glimpse into the future where Leonard Mead goes for long walks every evening by himself. It's a tradition for him to walk every evening and enjoy the peaceful nature. It is the year 2053, and Mead is the only person who goes for long walks in the evening. In all of the years he's never seen another person walking in the many hours that he has strolled along the sidewalks. Mead lives by himself, with no wife or kids. On one particular evening while Mead is walking in the dark night, a police car stops him and orders him to put his hands up. The police car questions him about his life and family to which Mead answers willingly, happy to have some human interaction. The police car asks his employment and Mead
