“Like Father, Like Son.” “Like father, like son.” Throughout history young boys have inherited traits from their fathers. Whether it be their charm, intellect, or athleticism. Sons reflect their fathers in one way or another. In the novel, The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, the fathers all have sons who possess many traits similar to the ones they show. A son being too much like his father can be a good thing or it can be a bad thing. The fathers in the book were Baba, Ali, and eventually, Hassan. The sons were Amir, Hassan, and Sohrab. This story greatly portrays these sons emulating their fathers in some fashion. The father and son duo that stays together from beginning to end is Baba and Amir. Yet Hassan did not know this, he was very much like his true father, Baba. Hassan was the side of Baba that no one knew about. Baba was a very brave man. So was Hassan. Baba was very tough and protective. As was Hassan. Earlier it was mentioned how Baba was ready to take a bullet to save the life of a woman. That act could have only been committed by a brave man. Baba would have done anything to defend Amir and so would Hassan. Hassan sacrificed himself all for Amir. The situation he was in would change his life forever. Yet he was brave and took whatever was coming his way. He knew how important the kite was to Amir so he held strong. Hassan was tough. After the rape he could have cried to Baba that Amir didn’t defend him. But he didn’t he was tough and never gave up on life. Hassan protecting Amir and taking what Assef gave him was the greatest blow someone could take for another human, being besides their life. He loved him with all his heart and when was presented with an injustice directed towards someone else, he didn’t allow
