Reflection Paper #4 On November 7, 2014, in Logan, Iowa, Cody Metzker-Madison was found not guilty by reason of insanity in the death of his foster brother who was five years old. The event occurred in August 2013 when the two boys were playing outside the family’s foster home alone when Metzker-Madison felt the urge to kill his foster brother because a goblin commander told him too and he did not understand what he was doing to the child. Denise Timmins, a general attorney, talked to the court about the lies Metzker-Madison told his foster parents the same day of the incident that undermined his goblin commander story. Metzker-Madison told his fosters parents Dominic hit himself with a brick in the head and was unsure where the boy was. However, the phycologist who testified in court stated that the teen lacked emotional connections and human compatibility when discussing how he attacked Dominic. The physiologist revealed that throughout the evaluation of Metzker-Madison state of mind he seemed unaffectionate towards Dominic and was descriptive in his animation story of the goblin commander, but edgy when confronted about lying to his foster parents. When the teen became edgy, it showed an unclear attachment of the actions he committed and the consequences he would receive.
