Who killed Romeo and Juliet? A question pondered by many people but never quiet answered. Some may say it was the forbidden love. Others would argue that it was their family’s hatred that killed them. I believe that it was their families that killed them the constant fighting happening on the streets, the city split in two by both sides it never helped them at all when they fell for each other and the fact that if either of their families found out and knew about it would punish them for loving each other.
The reason I think that it was their families that killed them is because in the story of Romeo and Juliet there is constant fighting happening between the families. Hence in the first scene the servants start fighting in the town and the town revolts and an angry mob forms because of it. Another reason for me believing in this theory is because after both Romeo and Juliet are found dead in the tomb there parents are guilty for their deaths and even they feel as if they are responsible for killing their

In the story both Romeo and Juliet know if they are found out by their parents that they love each other that they will be punished so they plan to get married and run away together. In the text it says that Juliet will get married to Paris but she never loved him giving more to the fact that it was the parent’s faults.
Another way to look at deaths and whose fault it is could be put on the carrier of the note who was supposed to give it to Romeo. Had he given the note to Romeo then both him and Juliet would have pulled off the last second plan and be happily married to each other far away from the parent’s hatred.
