Who Is The Antagonist In The Destructors

In chapter two of Graham Greene's, The Destructors, the audience is introduced to Blackie and T, or Trevor, and are identified as protagonist and antagonist within the conflict of the story. The story the Destructors is sad and cruel, but the reader learns that the protagonist is Blackie while the antagonist is Trevor, or T. Blackie is the protagonist because throughout the story he tries to halt the destruction of the house. For example, when the group of kids first hear T's idea, Blackie intervenes saying the idea is too extreme, yet T continues with the idea and convinces the group to go along with it. This is an example of Blackie becoming the protagonist because when Trevor introduces the idea to destroy the house Blackie attempts to stop the group taking on a hero's role. When they went to the front the driver said his fair well and started his car, but when he drove a small distance forward the house fell to rubble and Trevor's final plan was fulfilled. T then became the antagonist because he went against Blackies' ideas of doing good and proceeded to drive the group into a bad situation. The author of the Destructors is Graham Greene, and the main characters are Blackie, Trevor, or T, and Mr. Thomas. Each one of them plays a significant role in the Destructors. For example, Blackie becomes the protagonist, T proves to be the antagonist, and Mr. Thomas plays the innocent person whose house is destroyed. In this story, a group of young boys gathers together to find a new game to play every day, and usually, the games are harmless. The leader of the boys is Blackie, an innocent boy who uses the games to pass the time. Although, one day a small boy named Trevor came along and started telling the group that he had gone into the house which housed Mr.
