Have you ever blamed your mistakes on other people, instead of yourself? In life, it’s always easier to dump all your mistakes on others, rather than accept the consequences yourself. However, many mistakes that are made are your own fault because you're responsible for your own actions. No one can make you do anything. People may be about to persuade you or threaten you to do something, but it is still your fault, if you chose to take the wrong path. “Macbeth”, a play by William Shakespeare, is an example of a loyal soldier’s, Macbeth’s, downfall, but who really is responsible? The character most responsible for Macbeth’s downfall is Macbeth, himself, because he is overly ambitious, easily manipulated, and his willingness to believe the witches. Obviously, Macbeth’s characteristics are the reason for his own downfall. Some people may argue that Macbeth is not responsible for his downfall by being easily manipulated because the people around him are the people manipulating him into committing crimes. However, Macbeth’s flaw of being easily manipulated took over his nature and caused his downfall. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth, Lady Macbeth threatened Macbeth into killing King Duncan by saying, “When you durst do it, then you were a man: / And to be more than what you were, you would / Be so much more the man” …show more content…

Even though many people can contribute in the crime by talking and persuading others, it all comes down to who actually chose to commit it.
