Who’s to blame?
When people get in trouble don’t they always find an easy way out, like blaming someone else? In the case of Macbeth, someone else might actually be to blame. Usually, when people get in trouble, it’s because of other people’s actions too, not only their own. Macbeth, a play written by William Shakespeare demonstrates this action throughout the play and makes everyone appear as a suspect. The character most responsible for Macbeth’s downfall is Lady Macbeth because she influences Macbeth to kill which made him crave power and she was a manipulative person.

However this is incorrect. Macbeth did murder a large amount of people in order to keep the crown, but it was after Lady Macbeth’s cruel influence that lead to Duncan’s murder. All the other killings were a way to clean up the first murder and to allow him to remain king. If he had not been pushed into killing Duncan, despite his doubts, he may not have become a monster after all. Before killing Duncan, Macbeth has serious misgivings. He states, “First, as I am his kinsman and his subject/Strong both against the deed;then, as his host/Who should against his murderer shut the door”(1.7.13-15). This statement shows Macbeth didn’t want to kill Duncan when he was thinking about it alone. It is only after talking to Lady Macbeth that he said, “It’s settled” and goes to commit the murder(1.7.92). While it may be true that people are responsible for their own actions, the people in their lives also play a role in making decisions based on their influence. Although it is true to blame the person who perform the action, William Shakespeare taught us to be openly minded about the other characters motives and actions.
