Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare is one of the most popular and widely read plays of all time. There are many opinions throughout the world about what was responsible for the two lover's deaths. Several studies show that brains aren’t fully matured until one is in their early 20s. Romeo and Juliet were both extremely young. So the real cause of their deaths was themselves, their own youth.
Romeo and Juliet were both very immature and made irrational decisions without thinking about the consequences. When they first met each other Romeo was blinded by his own youthfulness. Juliet had warned him saying that if they got caught Romeo would be killed, (II.ii). Romeo replied, "Alack, there lies more peril in thine eyes than twenty swords, look thou sweet and I am proof against their enmity," (II.ii.71-73). The quote clearly reveals that Romeo isn't actually

They both knew about how their family’s hatred for one another but took the risk and decided to continue to see each other anyways, (II.ii). They made their own decisions and were responsible for the outcome and the consequences that followed. Additionally, the family had no idea about their love for each other. They were trying to get Juliet to marry Paris, which is proof that they had no idea about Romeo, (III.v). So how could the family be responsible for their deaths if they didn’t even know that they were in love with each other? Well, it’s simple, they weren’t responsible. Lastly, the family didn’t physically kill them. Romeo and Juliet made their own choice and committed suicide. They may have felt pressured but they were the ones who actually killed themselves, (V.iii). One cannot blame the family feud if they committed suicide. The family didn’t force Romeo to take the poison, or force Juliet to stab herself. They made the choice, they did it to
