Reflection 4: Why Am I in College? While I mostly find myself asking this question after long, hard days when I find it difficult to juggle school, work, and social obligations, I find that the most simple answer is: because I want to. I have grown up in a very blue collar family, and consequently I decided that I did not want to spend my entire life working endless hours of backbreaking work. At the same time, I feel that I have a familial obligation to do so. Finally, I know in my heart that I cannot have the type of career that I desire without a college education.
