Basketball is a big part of my life that I hope will never end until I come of age. I first started doing basketball in 5th grade and I never thought I was good until I soon became an example for the team and a leader. Now that i’m older, I know that i’m a great leader and I know how to set a good example for the team. As soon as, I knew I was a leader I had a lot of pressure on me because I never wanted to make a mistake, so I never tried anything new in a game only because I thought I would let down the team. When it came to 6th grade I never had the confidence to bring the ball up and I would usually give the ball away when I had good defense on me. I would just give up easily but my dad gave me the most pressure only because he would always say “ You can’t just throw the ball away you have to be a good teammate and help them out, you’re their leader so set a good example!” When a game came around I never wanted to make a mistake so I never stepped out of my comfort zone when I had the ball. …show more content…
This club changed the way I looked at the court. Also the way I thought of things because I was more confident when I had the ball and making decisions that were risky but I would still try it. One of the couches changed me in a big because he told me, “You have good potential and I think you could become a real stud in playing this game.” And I knew when he said that it could really happen.
Now i’m in 8th grade and i’m ready to see what I can actually do. The AAU club didn’t just change the way I play but how I handle things when i’m on the court. For example I used to get so frustrated and just make mistakes all the time, but now I just forget about it because it’s not like I can go back a change
