Our nation is free, but not in the way that many people try to say. In 1775, our soldiers had to fight for eight years in the Revolutionary war for the freedom we do have. Because of that freedom, we have fought in many wars after that. Some of the wars we fought in could have been avoided. Therefore, there have been many unjustifiable wars. World War II was fought when Adolf Hitler, the dictator of Germany, invaded Poland (Hughes). He made an agreement with the Soviet Union, so they would help Germany take over Poland (Hughes). They made an agreement that the Soviet Union would get the easternmost portion of Poland and Germany would get the westernmost portion of Poland (Hughes). Soon after he evacuated all of the Jews from the comfort of their homes, they selected the sick, disabled, or mentally ill from the group and they were gassed to death (History.com). After they selected all of the sick Jews, there totaled to be about 70,000 that were killed just because they were sick (History.com). People started to notice this was wrong, so they would protest (History.com). Hitler said he stopped doing this, but actually just moved it to secret (History.com). This was referred to as the Holocaust (History.com). The Jews that have become sick or are not as strong as the others were sent to concentration camps starting in 1941 (History.com). The job of these camps were to kill the weakest Jews, but when the camps would start to clear out, then they would send more (Holocaust.com). If you didn’t die of starvation or illness, you were gassed to death (Holocaust.com). The Holocaust ended in 1945 with the end of World War II (Holocaust.com). The Holocaust was directly caused by World War II which was an unjustified
