During the Crusades the Christians declared a Holy War against the Muslim Turks with the intention of reclaiming Jerusalem. Pope Eugene III Initiated the second Crusade led by King Louis VII of France and Conrad III of Germany. Sultan Muizz al-din led the Muslim Turks to victory. Who will win in this epic battle? Remember, war does not always have a winner. Sometimes both sides will lose.
Objective of the Christians:
The Muslims have taken back our Holy Land. They attacked our pilgrims and will not let us visit. We fear they will attack Constantinople. Choose to play the role of the Christians, follow your King and reclaim Jerusalem by answering the Call to Arms issued by Pope Eugene III.

Each Player starts with 100,000 troops.
Recruitment Phase:
The Christians will move their token to Regensburg and draw one card from the recruitment pile for their advance. The Muslims will then draw a card from the recruitment pile for their defense. Each player in turn draws another card as the Christians move through Vienna, Belgrade, Adrianople, and Constantinople until both players have 5 cards. The players will then add the number of troops from their cards to the initial 100,000 and this is the number of troops they will have for the battle phase.
Decision Phase:
The Christians will choose whether to attack from land or by sea. If the Christians attack by Land then they will deploy their troops outside of Antioch and the Muslims will divide their troops equally among their Defending cities of Antioch, Tripoli, Acre, and Jerusalem to prepare for the coming battles. If the Christians are to attack by sea then they will draw a penalty card but will only have to fight a single battle for Jerusalem and the Muslims will deploy 90% of their resources to Jerusalem.
