Why Did The Truman Win The Cold War

The cold war was a time of strain between the Soviet Union and the Unites States after world war two. There are no exact dates for the cold war but the dates that are given are 1947 through 1991. The cold war didn’t involve both sides fighting directly although there were territorial wars that both sides involved in. Each side were prepared for nuclear war which ceased both sides from attacking each other. As a result of that it stopped both sides from ever attacking because each side knew that to ambush one side meant total destruction against the attacker. So instead of attacking one another they fought for control by turning other countries against each other and helping the countries by supplying armor, weapons, and food.

Truman was president of the United States at the beginning of the cold war. Not only was harry s. Truman president during the cold war but he was president during world war two as well. Harry s Truman was very anti-communist which help set many of the policies during this time. Dwight d Eisenhower became president after Harry s. Truman. His work in world war two helped him win the election against Truman. During his time as president meant also the beginning of the US becoming involved with Vietnam which would later get the US involved in the Vietnam war. John f. Kennedy although was only president for a short amount of time his presidency was very eventful. He pretty much stopped Cuba from getting bombed. Because the Soviet Union was holding nuclear weapons in Cuba. Eventually both sides backed off and no war actually happened. On the Soviet Union side joseph Stalin was leader but after his death
