Muslim women should not be told what they should or should not wear, especially if they are told to wear them because of their religious beliefs. The stereotype that all Muslim women are forced to wear veils, is utterly erroneous. There are some Muslim women who choose not to wear the veil, it is their decision. Why do Muslim women wear veils? Their God, Allah tells the women believers to cover up their beauty from men, thereby keeping their modesty. They are acquainted with doing what their God demands them to do. However, some countries defy their right and ban them from wearing their religious veils. These countries include The Netherlands, France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, and Chad. New to the list is Canada. In …show more content…
Even though they have to wear this veils, they are forced not to by this law. These women are forced to do something, that goes against their religion, rights, and beliefs.
Muslim women should be free to wear anything they want, especially if its part of their religion. Quebec has made wearing full-face veils illegal, therefore not allowing Muslim women to wear their religious symbol. Veils are traditionally worn by Muslim women in the presence of males, outside their close family. It is a symbol of modesty and privacy. The Islamic sacred book, the Qu'ran states "...and that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what must ordinarily appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their chests and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers…” Therefore, Muslim women should wear their shawls and veils as a representation of their religion. So who is Quebec, to defy their belief? According to "Removing The Veils" by Bryan Brown, it explains, "Quebec officials say the law is necessary for
