Dental Hygiene is a practice and service that promotes the health of people, that being one of the major reasons why I am interested in the Dental Field. I recognize the importance in oral health and helping others. My personal dental background has also very largely impacted my decision to become a Dental Hygienist. Improving others lives and their health is the central reason that impacted my decision to become a Dental Hygienist. Poor oral health can lead to other very serious health issues including, facial or oral pain, infections of the mouth that can lead to major problems with the heart and other organs, and digestion problems. By going to the Dentist regularly, patients can prevent issues from appearing at all, or decline the rate the dental issue is progressing at. By becoming a Dental Hygienist I can be apart of improving the lives of others and their and health.
Taking care and helping others is what comes naturally to me. If someone is in need I reach out, and try to aid him or her in the most efficient way possible. Dental Hygienists help every single one of their patients. Whether it is by polishing the patients’ teeth, teaching them how to floss, or taking their X-Rays, every step made is to ensure the

I have had a root canal, four baby teeth extractions, two of my teeth exposed, a tooth implant, and braces twice. Surprisingly enough, I love going to the Dentist. Every time I go in for a visit I ask the Dentist or Surgeon questions about what they are doing, or why they were doing something a certain way. One Dental Assistant made the sarcastic remark, “I bet you would just love to work in the Dental Field.” That comment has always stuck in the back of my mind, and ever since I have always wanted to become a Dental Hygienist.
