My dream job is to be a Nurse Practitioner. A Nurse Practitioner is a nurse who is qualified to treat certain medical conditions without the direct supervision of a doctor. In some hospitals Nurse Practitioners will work 10-12 hours a day, sometimes even 24 hours depending on if the hospital is busy enough. The duties and responsibilities of a Nurse Practitioner include diagnosing treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. Some of the skills used in being a Nurse Practitioner include active learning, active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, social perceptiveness and speaking. Nurse Practitioners work indoors in clinics, office practices and hospitals. They can also work in rural areas and urban community health centers. There's lots of jobs open to Nurse Practitioners, especially ones who travel. Travel is really popular with Nurse Practitioner jobs, although some require little to no traveling necessary.
