Achieving the rank of Petty Officer First Class and a former Quality Assurance inspector in the avionics field, assisted in developing my prospective that a democratic society is accountable for its smart use of public resources and individual endeavors should foster fair and consistent governance. Individually, we must be afforded the chance to pursue our dreams without the hindrance of injustice or corruption, and our aspirations should include improving civil society. My interests are in stewardship, compliance, and sustainable design, and we should support one another as we work together in these endeavors. Not a person of prestige, it is a privilege to pursue the challenging work of cultivating an inclusive and responsible society.

Participating in the Master of Public Administration program at The Evergreen State College, has refined my consensus building and collaborative skill. My outreach group and I are promoting pollinator awareness and encouraging the use of public green spaces. Establishing contact with the Olympia Airport, we negotiated the installation of honey bee hives. Our collaborative effort is advertising and auctioning the excess honey in support of SafePlace, a local domestic violence shelter. Although, a small, supportive effort, small can be cumulative and we should help our neighbors. On another outreach front, I prepared and facilitated a pollinator awareness briefing for the Squaxin Island Tribe’s Community Garden team and communication continues.
