The year of 1963 just before the death of the legendary WEB DU Bois, he had a sit down interview he express his disagreements with Booker T. Washington. Booker T. Washington was a slave who was considered the most prominent black leader of his time (1856-1915). He was a strong believer of self-help, racial solidarity. He believed in education in the ability to do anything that your hands can do. He believed that blacks should have farming skills and more. He once stated that the only way to gain the respect of whites was to prove that African Americans can do anything.
