All doctors, have just one thing in common and that is to save the lives of their patients no matter what. Doctors do not want to just sit back, watch their patient die and not do anything. They want to do everything in their power to make sure that there patient survives.
Shon was just a young boy, who unfortunately had a water breathing disease. No young boy or his parents would ever want to deal with a disease. Shon’s religion was being the people of the egg, meaning he was born of the egg. This also meant that he was born of the chosen.
The morality act of Dr. Franklin not operating on Shon, would lead to the consequence of Shon dying and his parents being devastated, but also relieved that he no longer has to deal with the pain. The morality act of Dr. Franklin operating on Shon, would lead to the good consequence of Shon living, but it would also lead to the bad consequence of Shon becoming a demon. The reason why he would become a demon is because if he has the surgical operation performed on him, he would lose his spirit, religion, and destiny as an egg.

Franklin did have the right to operate on Shon, as long as he got permission from his commander, Sinclair. Dr. Franklin also had to make sure he got the paper signed by Sinclair, saying it was alright for him to operate on Shon.

The parents fought hard and talked to many people to get someone on their side.
