Why Is Hunting Bad Persuasive Essay

I believe that hunting is a good thing because it stops the overpopulation of animals. We get meat from hunting the animals, and if we hunt it should be for a purpose. Some people do hunt for sport, but they should stop that because their killing animals for fun and not even for a good cause. Some people believe that we shouldn’t be killing any animals, but most people do it for they can have food to eat. Every animal species, humans as well, has been either predator or prey at some point in its evolution. Since humans have wiped out many animal predators, some people see hunting as a natural way to cull the herds of prey animals that now reproduce beyond the environment's carrying capacity. On the other hand some people believe that hunting animals is cruel and barbaric. Many say that people hunt for pleasure. In my opinion I think that is not all true, and that people do it for a purpose. Hunting keeps wildlife populations in balance for it won’t overcrowd. According to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) the majority of hunted species- such as waterfowl, upland birds, mourning doves, squirrels and raccoons do not require population control. Many believe it’s bad for the environment to hunt animals, but many also don’t know that the population can grow larger than it is now. Animal population is growing and hunting just puts the population in its place where it should be. We also hunt for food. Without food we won’t be able to survive. Factories do get cows, chickens, pigs etc.. to kill and get the meat from them, but some people like to hunt for the food to feed their self or their families.
