1. Do you think it is ever ethical to falsify a document? From the standpoint of carrying the thought that at some point in the future, a falsified document can catch up with you. Makes falsifying a document more of risk than the possible good that came as a result. Therefore, it is never ethical to falsify a document. Doing so manifest an ethical decision dilemma that is subject to personal cost. Akins et al (2007) state “Personal cost can mean the cost of friendship, monetary loss, loss of employment, or loss of trust” (p. 25). In this case study, the defense contractor is also subject to the loss of his freedom, if the document has a legal disclaimer, that prison can result from falsifying the document.
2. Did falsifying the document to secure the release of U.S. Air Force equipment justify the act?

Although it made logical sense, it did not make legal sense. Unless the defense contractor’s actions were signed off by someone of higher authority. He even entered into what Akins et al (2007) describe as a decision dilemma of rationalizing a decision to justify an act. The defense contractor engaged in rationalization, when he thought about how the tax payers’ money would be wasted, as result of the equipment setting in customs for an extended period of time; as well when he inserted that, if he did not get the equipment out of customs in time; the equipment would be lost to government and sold on the black market (Menzel, 2017).
