Why Is It Important To Read The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby is one of America’s most renowned pieces of literature, and I decided some time ago that it would be a good idea to read it. While I was inspecting the book I guessed that it would tell about luxurious parties, fast expensive cars and good-looking women. My presumption wasn’t too far off and further down the review you will find out how close I was and my general thoughts on this book.

The story line of The Great Gatsby is about a man by the name of Nick Carraway, who moves away from his home to study. Rather than focusing on his time studying, the book focuses more on his time outside of school. For example when he attends parties. One of these parties has a grave importance, because he gets to meet an interesting man called Gatsby. Gatsby first seems to be a loved person with an endless amount of money and no bigger problems at all, but eventually you come to realize that the man isn’t who you thought he were.

The words are sufficiently new to be able to understand the book’s content without much effort. The general surrounding environment is often most great parties, and you get just that specific feeling of a party when you are reading. In my opinion, this book is still relevant, mainly because its way of explaining the festivities is tremendously relatable. The youth of today will, earlier than I would support, know the true feeling of a party which makes this book perfect for that target group. This would eventually make the piece of literature live on through generations with greater ease.
