What does "manufacturing consent" refer to?
Ans: The term “Manufacturing Consent” was borrowed from a book during the year 1921 by Walter Lippmann .He described manufacture of consent as the revolution in the practice of democracy. It is very useful because it is the common interest of the very largely escape from the public opinion. A specialized class can only manage it. Manufacturing Consent is more opposite of the common view of democracy according to Norm Chomsky.

Manufacturing Consent is important in a democratic society because of the presence of democracy. In a military or totalitarian government state, it does not matter what people think, as there is someone at the top who is controlling everything. Nevertheless if the state loses the ruler or the governor, voices are heard because the people become arrogant, impatient and curious. They want to control what they think in a standard way. Propagandas are the standard way to manufacture a concept. In simple words it is a concept of creating illusions between people.
