Why Is Osama Bin Laden Justified

The assassination of Osama Bin Laden was justified because to the United States of America, he was the leader of the terrorist group Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda, which has now branched off into ISIS, is one of America’s major enemies and killed over three thousand people in the attack of the twin towers; however, the members of Al Qaeda under the leadership of Bin Laden, believed he was the best for their survival and attacking the US was their best option. After the attack on the twin towers, Osama Bin Laden went into hiding in a three-story compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. The CIA had two choices on how to capture Bin Laden dead or alive. One of them was bombing the compound. If they had bombed the compound with 50,000 pounds of ordnance, “the explosive powder would kill everyone inside the compound and quite a few people nearby,”(The Hunt for “Geronimo”, paragraph 24). The bombing option was immediately ruled out and they went for the second option; a raid. The raid was a “50-50 proposition” because they were not 100% certain that it was Osama Bin Laden in the compound, but all the signs pointed to the fact that it was him. It was the attack where four planes were hijacked by members of Al Qaeda. Two of the planes hit the twin towers, one hit the Pentagon, and the third crashed into a field before the passengers would let the terrorist reach the White House.
