The character that I would have followed in the novel would have been Ralph.
One of the first reasons that I would have followed Ralph is because he has the ability to make good decisions for the island. Ralph makes choices that actually benefit people and demonstrates common sense when he does things. During the story, Ralph has great ideas about where everything should be placed on the island. For example, he decided where the huts should be built on the island. Personally, I believe a good leader should have the ability to come up with good ideas and make great decisions. Without good ideas, things will not go as planned. This causes more chaos because when things do not go as planned, everything else seems to go downhill and a total mess
