Why Is Red Ridding Hood Stupid

A lot of children grow up with classic stories like Little Red Ridding Hood and Goldie Locks. These characters are held in a high regard. Although, no one seems to notice their poor decision making throughout the stories. They have very different personalities, decision making abilities, and desires, of which are shown throughout their stories. Which of these influential woman is more stupid? Red Ridding Hood has made some careless choices. However, she is not completely to blame, considering her mother sent her young child into the woods, of which she knew there are predators lurking about. That is the biggest mistake throughout the book, even though it is not Red Ridding Hood’s it should still be noted. Secondly, Red Ridding Hood should have gotten something to protect herself. If she had had pepper spray, a knife, or literally anything to defend herself, she would have been better prepared to handle a wolf or any other predator. Considering that Red Ridding Hood is still a young child, her mother should have given her something to defend herself, and teach her how to use it properly. Red Ridding Hood does deserve credit for not falling for the wolf’s tricks. Her only other significant mistake was not instantly being able to tell the difference between a human and a wolf. She broke into a house, after going into the woods by herself. She stole. She broke furniture and got caught doing it. Does that make her stupid? It does make her immature certainly, but not necessarily stupid. She knew what she was doing. For example, the Joker is a fictional criminal. In his stories he destroys property, murders and tortures. This doesn’t make him stupid. The same applies for Goldie Locks. She made some morally wrong choices, but she didn’t make but two stupid choices. She should have left sooner, and she shouldn’t have gone into the woods alone unarmed.
