Why Juveniles Should Be Tried As Adults

Juveniles don’t deserve to be tried as adults. They need to have a better environment. It might be the adult’s fault that the child committed a crime. Adults and young people have a different mindset . Adults should be treated as grown adults and juveniles should be treated as their self. Juveniles will not be able to grow and mature if they are growing up inside a jail cell. Maturing with grown adults who are in jail will probably influence their crime acts even more. In fact, juvenile experts say that, “Locking up young people with hardened adult criminals did more harm than good.”(Schwartz,pg 2,p 5 )Adults are suppose to be teaching you and the adults in jail are committing crimes, which may teach the kids the wrong things. Additionally, not all of the adults in jail are responsible for the young people’s bad influences. Also, it’s not always the guardian’s fault that their kids can get a hold of weapons and that they committed crimes. But, young people have a more less developed brain than adults and kids have a less understanding of what’s wrong and what’s right or they just don’t know. Also, the bad environment is not good for an undeveloped person as it might be a poor influence, even though the adult criminals might not know.
Juveniles shouldn’t be tried as adults. Their brains and minds are different. They need to be provided with a better environment instead of one filled with bad influences and memories. The kid criminals should have better guardians if they committed crimes. The law needs to know that juveniles and adults are different, especially their brain/mindset, so they need to be treated differently. Treating juveniles as adults in the justice system will not help them, it could make them even
