What if school started at 10 in the morning? Well, that would actually be worse than starting around 7:30. That would mess with teenager’s internal clocks and their performance. School schedules should not be changed and continue to start early in the morning for many reasons.
First of all, starting school early leaves more time for afternoon events. High schoolers have more time for jobs. Kids who walk home have more daylight for safety. Sports will have more daylight to practice. However, people arguing that school schedules should be changed would probably say that in benefits of school starting later, they would have more time for breakfast. Schools serve breakfast too. 92.5% of schools that serve lunch, serve breakfast as well.
