The Second Amendment is More Far-reaching than the First Amendment
Geroge Washington once said, "A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them. Which includes their own government." Having the right to gun ownership protects citizens from tyranny. The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution, which is the right to bear arms, is what gives Americans that right. The First Amendment is the freedom of speech, religion, the press, and the right to assemble peacefully. The First Amendment delivers no protection. Many may believe having the right to bear arms isn't as important than the freedom of speech; however, the Second Amendment can protect American citizens individually, families, and other rights.
Correspondingly, the Second Amendment provides protection for other rights and from tyranny. What if someone, who had no right to own a gun, was sleeping in their own house, and a burglar invades their house. They could end up hurt; however, if that house owner had a firearm they could have scared off the burglar with no harm needed.
