Reflection
I decided this video on a whim. I wanted to look up another book or article but this seemed interesting and could be another topic added to my argument of decision making. I focused most of my paper on the happiness in decision making and the reason why make these choices. This will help add to the opposite side of the spectrum, why it we make what is considered to be bad decisions.
Why we make bad decisions. Normally someone would want to know why we make the choices we make the good and the bad but why not focus on just the bad decisions. People make decisions every day, and if only someone could tell us which decisions would be the right one all the time, unfortunately that does exist, which is what Dan Gilbert believes. He talks of the errors that people make when deciding the right thing to do.
One error being estimating the odds the person has when assuming they will succeed in any decision that is made. “It is easy recall situations where a person dies from a tornado but when is the last time you remember a story of a person dying from asthma attack?”(Gilbert 5 minutes)This is an example of how a person recalls what they assume is the

People will make the decision of the most reasonable choice at that moment based on what is assumed to be a “good deal”. Although in reality it might not have been important or could have been insignificant. This leads to what would be thought as not the best decision because you based it on what was how the object of choice was in that moment in time. “Now is better than later,”(Gilbert 18 minutes) is the argument raised in this video to get people of the audience to understand that one will make a rash decision that, in hind sight, was a reckless soundless
