The right that shouldn’t be taken from anyone is life, this is especially true when it’s being taken from a innocent and defenseless being. A common debate that today's society often gets caught up in is whether abortion should or should not be legal. Abortion should be illegal. The killing of an innocent human life is inhumane. It can cause psychological damage and even physical harm to the mother involved, not only this but it defies the word and work of God. Firstly, the killing of an innocent being is inhumane and immoral. There are actual laws that state that intentionally killing or attempting to kill an unborn child should result in the person being punished. A study done in Finland revealed that women who abort are four times more likely to die in the following year than women who carry pregnancies to term. Although you would think cases of infection and fatal injuries would decrease as abortion is legal, it hasn’t, in fact cases of ectopic pregnancies have increased by 300% since abortion has been legalized. Pelvic infection is found in 30% of cases and can lead to infertility, spontaneous abortion, dyspareunia, and chronic pelvic pain. Not only can it hurt the mother physically, but it can harm her psychologically as well. For example, many cases of depression and anxiety have been reported post abortion. A study published by Southern Medical Journal showed that women who aborted were 154% more likely to commit suicide than women who carried to term.
