From a child to an adult, you normally have you parents to guide you through life. But some people decide to leave their parents earlier on. When children choose to leave their parents, it is called emancipation. Emancipation laws in the United States vary from one state to another. The age ranges from fourteen to eighteen to be legally emancipated. I believe that children should not be emancipated until at least eighteen. I consider this because until a child is eighteen, they are not considered as adults and normally, they would not be ready for the “real world” life. I also believe that children should not be emancipated until eighteen since there would typically be a complication with money, with the exception of child stars, and growing up, children have obligation for support and guidance throughout their lives. Without guidance, children would be rather lost. Children under eighteen are considered adults and they are under the influence of their parents. Before eighteen I believe a child’s mind and judgemental instinct is weaker than how it would be if they were older. Even though eighteen is what society calls an adult, it is the bare minimum to be fully matured. A minor that is emancipated must receive a permit to work and earn their own money. When emancipated minors start living on their own, the court needs to sufficiently see that the minor is making money and supporting themselves with bills, food, clothing, and more. Some minors are child stars and of course they could support themselves with the income they make and they want to be emancipated so all the money goes to the child instead of the parents.
