William Frederick Cody, also referred to Buffalo Bill, was born West of the Mississippi River by LLeClaire, Iowa He was born to Isaac and Mary Ann Cody. Which were an anti slavery family . William Frederick Cody had 2 sisters, Julia and Martha and a brother , who was named Samuel. Later on , turned out to have 3 more sisters and another brother, May ,Helen, Eliza, and Charlie . William and his family moved by the city of Leavenworth, Kansas in 1854. It was difficult since the Cody family was antislavery, and most of Kansas was pro Slavery. One of the reasons the move there was good was that Bill learned to write and read when he attended a school that his father ran. Which helped him in his future to working. He was known for many things in
