William Howe was born to Emanuel and Charlotte on August 10 1729 in London, United Kingdom.He died July 12 1814 in Twickenham, United Kingdom. He went to Eton College. He married Frances Connolly but did not have any children. He had six siblings Richard Howe, 1st Earl Howe, George Howe, 3rd Viscount Howe, Caroline Howe, and Thomas Howe. His father was a General in the king’s army, and was also the illegitimate uncle of King George the third. You see William Howe’s grandmother [or Emanuel Howe’s mother] was the lover of King George the first, who was the grandfather of King George the third. He had an important role in a lot of popular wars. A few important wars he played a role in is the French Revolutionary Wars, American Revolutionary War, and , the Seven years War. In the French and Indian war Howe won most of the battles he fought during that war.That summer General George Howe, William’s brother died in the battle of Carillon. Because of his brothers death William earned a seat at Parliament, taking his brother spot. At the end of the summer William helped General Wolfe attack Quebec in 1759. The success of the war helped give Howe a good name, and that December he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.

That winter Howe traveled back to New England. When he returned to New England he was assigned to Colonel of a regiment leaving for Ireland in 1764. In 1768 he was appointed governor of Isle of Wight. In 1772 Howe was promoted to major general, and soon after asked to take over training the light infantry of the British Army.
