Wilt the Stilt Long ago, one of the best players of all time changed the game of basketball. Wilt Chamberlain has had many achievements in his life such as the 100 point scoring game which still stands as the highest scoring game today, he also was the first person to achieve 30,000 points in a basketball career, he also is the only player to have three teams retire the number 13 under his name. In his first NBA season he averaged 37.6 points per game and 27 rebounds per game, he also only needed 56 games to break the previous scoring season record of 2,001 points, the holder was Bob Pettit which took him 72 games to achieve. Wilt Chamberlain broke eight NBA records in his first season, also was named Rookie of the Year and also MVP. Wilt Chamberlain's most famous season was when he averaged 50.4 points per game and 25.7 rebounds per game. Wilt Chamberlain owns probably the most significant and unbreakable record of the 100 point game. According to Ben Bloch’s article called “Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point game: 50 years later, still a marvel” Jamal Crawford of the Clippers being the great scorer that he is said that he doesn't think that anyone could even come close to triple digits again, just because defenses now a days have too much respect for themselves and wouldn't want that on them. In Shea Serrano’s article it tells some of the people that he thinks could break the record and then those people comment on it and they think that their is not a chance that they could even come close. For someone to break the 100 point record they would have to be absolutely on fire the whole game, they would also have to play all 48 minutes to have a chance. Chamberlain is also the only player in history to had never fouled out of a game. Wilt published his autobiography called Wilt: “Just Like Any Other 7-Foot Black Millionaire Who Lives Next Door” and he did that when he retired in 1973. He tried to coach for a little while and was big on commercials at the time. He also tried acting in 1984 when he appeared on a film with Arnold Schwarzenegger called “Conan the destroyer”. Wilt was inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1978 and was also named on of the top 50 players of all time in 1996. Chamberlain had also made a book in which he claimed to have slept with 20,000 women throughout his life. According to Eddie Deezen on an article that he wrote on whether it is possible for Chamberlain to have really slept with that many women when he did the math it came out to be that Chamberlain would have had to of slept with 1.4 women a day which is 500 women per year from the age of 15 to 55(when
Chamberlain had published his book). What is crazy is that he could have actually done this since he said he had enjoyed threesomes and multiple women at once. Wilt Chamberlain died of heart failure on October 12, 1999 in his home in Los Angeles.
