Winston Churchill was not only a Prime Minister for England. He also was an encourager of people during World War Two. One reason for that may have been that he had ADHD. After he got out of school, he briefly went into a career in the army. Then he went to work as a journalist. Though Churchill wasn’t in office during Hitler’s rise to power he still knew it was going to happen. Winston Churchill was appointed First Lord of the Admiralty in 1939 when Britain declared war on Germany. In 1940 He became chairmen of the Military Coordinating Committee. Winston Churchill kept the Nazi invasion away as long as he could. Eventually they overpowered most of the world. On June 18, 1940 Churchill made a speech to the House of Commons saying that the battle of the Britain’s was about to begin. On May 7, 1945 Churchill was defeated in the election of Prime minister. After he had been defeated, he became the leader of opposition party and kept making a difference in the public. In 1951 Churchill won back the title of prime minister in the election. He received honorary degrees of freedom of citizen’s also honorary citizen of the United States. He won a Nobel Peace prize for literature along with many ribbons and colors on his uniform.
