In The Crucible that is written by Arthur Miller. He wrote the story about the Witch Trials that proceeded in Salem around 1692. The story started out with how the children got caught with the thought of being apart of the witchcraft. The girls accused others and become apart of the court. Abigail Williams accused the wife of the man she had a affair with. When the husband, John Proctor got upset of his wife, Elizabeth getting a falsely accused by the “whore” he had the affair with. That is when him and a few other men that had falsely accused wives went to the court and tried to show how the girls were telling a lie about there being witches in Salem. Proctor even got one of the girls to tell the truth until she got scared and turned on him. Leading to Proctor going to jail and wit him and Rebecca Nurse refusing to say they were apart of witchcraft and they hung. In Act 1, when all of the “witchcraft” accusations came about it had to do with the children. Reverend Parris caught them in the woods dancing. In this time period they did not dance.
