What are the implications of global warming?
I found it very interesting to read about all the changes in regarding the global warming. The glacier facts located in our text in Chapter 9, the pictures spoke more than words could. Also the current changes which are causing the El Nino and La Nina effects were very interesting. There are many implications that could occur from global warming such as from our text, flooding from the melting of ice caps (Cunningham and Cunningham, 2008). Others warn of mass migrations due to the climate changes and the drastic changes in the weather patterns (Wassener, 2011). I think flooding may be the biggest implication.
And, do you feel the efforts to improve air quality are worth the economic costs?
I think the efforts to improve the air quality are worth the economic costs. In the long run, it may be the changes to improve the air quality that may reduce health care costs for those who suffer from the ailments caused by bad air quality such as lung diseases, cancer or even asthma. One cost in improvements could help those that suffer. That is not including the improvements it will make in the environment. It maybe should not be thought as a cost but more so as an investment in the environment and the people who share the air space.

The flooding , I think also is a very good implication of what is going on with global warming. I could not believe that the ice was changing like that. The glaciers I thought were always a certain temperature in that area. I would have never thought that it was melting to the extreme. I personally did not know very much information about global warming. I have to agree with you on the money that is being used to help our future. I do also think that it should not be looked at as an expense of lost money ,but an investment for our future. The air we breath is a reason why we are getting sick and people are suffering from breathing problems. I believe that the air quality needs to be a priority so that treatments are not the next mandatory procedure done to humans , like shots.
