Woman who have migrated to the United States from Latin American countries have endured tremendous cultural change. As a woman, specifically as a mother, one can find themselves lost and perhaps scared for their children’s future along with their owns’ in a country brand new to them. Finding work and a stable job can bring lots of worry and stress to undocumented working woman. However, women have made the best of their situation by becoming a part of the growing epidemic of independent working providers occupying their resources and utilizing their skills and strengths to take up positions such as street vendors and domestic workers.

The utilization of unoccupied space on sidewalks and homes has opened the door to more cultures being introduced to each other. Domestic woman are working, cleaning, but also cooking in homes of presumptively non-hispanic people, therefore, the employers and their children may have not initially been introduced to many of the plates these women from Latin American countries are bringing to the …show more content…
Not only that, many locations are best known because of the merchandise they find or the street food they are allowed to buy. Street vending has given many areas a new name. Sites occupied with street vendors also represent a major attraction for foreign tourists looking for an authentic experience. Street vending contributes to the economic, social, and cultural life of a city by offering a wide range of affordable goods. Because street vendors sell affordable goods in small quantities, they offer the poor customer access to otherwise unaffordable goods. Moreover, with regard to cleanliness, in my experience I have noted that sidewalks occupied with vendors have seem to have slightly cleaner working environments that sidewalks with no vendors. Conscientious vendors work hard to keep their spots clean and to provide the most sanitary “ working and buying’’ they possibly can for their customers and
