Many Americans and other citizens of the world live in a world where it seems apparent that all people of any race, religion, gender, ethnicity and/or sexual orientation are equal. Many nations in today's world do not offer civil rights and liberties to certain groups of society solely based on race, religion, gender, ethnicity and/or sexual orientation. It is safe to say that discrimination in society is, to an extent, due to the environment. Women are denied civil rights in India and their citizens view women as "Untouchables". This belief is based off of their religious affiliation. Since the Emancipation Proclamation, blacks have struggled to gain equal rights of people of different race and ethnicity. Women are discriminated and treated poorly in the workplace, at school, and at home. Women working in jobs from local coffee shops all the way up to big national and international corporations are treated differently than their male counterparts. It has been made apparent over the past decade that there is a significant "gender-pay gap". Women are often discriminated against in school while trying to achieve a higher education like their male counterparts. Discrimination against women in school mostly occurs in post-secondary education. Women are often denied admittance into highly pretentious schools for merely their gender. It is not their fault that they were born with the two X-chromosomes. It is apparent that females work harder for their education so as to be successful in life. If you stand with the people that say women should be more educated and work harder to achieve the same pay as their male counterparts then you are absurd. No human being, whether you are white or black, male or female, heterosexual or homosexual, Christian or Islamist, should be denied their right to education at whatever level they wish to achieve for all are
