Therefore, women’s opinions were often overpowered by physicians’. With a midwife attended birth, women were more empowered to take control of their experience and decide what was best for them throughout the labor and delivery process. A feminist birth is one in which the woman is informed of her options, feels empowered, and can decide for herself what route to take for labor and delivery.
