During the 1800s, women didn’t have the rights of a man. They had no liberty. Not being able to vote, be educated, nor have an occupation was very frustrating for them. So they decided to hold the very first “Women’s Right Convention”. Having this convention has changed the lives for many women, allowing them some of what men had.

July 19, 1848 was the day of the Women’s Right Convention. Elizabeth Cady Stanton, who lived in Seneca Falls, New York, hosted the convention at a church. During the convention, they created twelve resolutions. They met again to debate about the resolutions. Eleven of twelve resolutions were passed.

In “The Birthplace of Women’s Rights” by Howard Mansfield, Stanton is viewed as the woman who contributed
