During the early 1900s, women faced the incompetent consequence being unable to vote. Before, during, and after World War I, the women (and some men) started a campaign to raise awareness of this discrimination against people’s genders. This organization realized and understood how these poor women felt. These people called themselves the suffrages and they started the Suffrage Movement for women. Before World War I and the 20th century, there was another group called the National Union of Women’s Suffrage that was founded by Millicent Fawcett. Fawcett was a woman of strong disbeliefs and arguments. She wanted peaceful protest because she thought that violence and trouble would make the men assume that women could not be trusted.
