The book Wonder, by R.J. Palacio is about a ten year old boy named August Pullman, who was born with a cranio-facial abnormality and has endured numerous surgeries. His whole life he has been homeschooled, but when he turned 10-years-old his parents began to further discuss sending him to a public middle school, so he can learn more than his mom can teach and grasp his social skills - meeting new friends -.
