Working goals had both positive and negative affect. Workers that were on strike would show that they wanted better conditions, shorters hours working, and better wages. In document six it shows workers on strike on one of the signs it says “We what 8 hours work” because they work for sixteen hours and don’t get enough time to eat. The first person to bring up the eight hours of work was Robert Owen. Owen believed that work days should be divided into thirds to get time to themselves and get so sleep. Owen did not have enough people. a couple years later another guy who what by the name Tom Mann tried it again he took this case to Trades Union Congress and they tried.
