Workshop one
Self-introduction
My name is Viviana Pestana. I am originally from Colombia I have been living in the United States for 14 years, my study major is R. N. The high school I attended in Colombia is Julia Restrepo School. After my graduation I went to the college to study social work, I did just two years and I decide to move to another city to continue with a new life and change my mayor to International Tourism Relations.
After I graduated I started to look for a job but in the same time I applied for the visa to the United States and when I got my visa I decided to move here. The pass few years I worked two jobs and slept just four hours a day and after I decided to enhance my career and move to the next level and become a nurse, this has been for a long time my dream and here I’m.
Vocabulary.
Audience: Is a group of people who listening or pay attention to an event.
Purpose: The reason for something exits or to be done.
Voice: Is the ability to speak and express thought.
Journalist: Is a person who researches and writes information to present and report to a group of people and the purpose is to present the news and other information.
Ethical issue: Is a set of principles of right conduct.
Shocking events: Very surprising and up setting or causing a sudden feeling of horror or disgust.
Shameful situations: The painful feeling arising from the consciousness of something dishonorable, improper, ridiculous, etc. done by oneself or another. Embarrassing situation: Is a situation hard to deal with.
Scandals: Is a disgraceful situation in which people behave in a dishonest or immoral way that shocks people.
Aggressor: A confident assertive person who acts as instigator or a person who first attacks or makes an aggression, he who begins hostility.
Paparazzi: Photographer who follows famous people hoping to get a newsworthy story, especially something shocking or scandalous.
Propaganda: Publicity to promote something: information put out by an organization or government to promote a policy, idea, or cause.
Example of terms
Audience, purpose, voice: The target audience is women who spend a good amount of time cleaning their houses and looking for a new, easier way to get the job done they want to cut the cleaning time in half and have better results. They are reading about a cleaning product and they want to check this product because it’s environmental safe and inexpensive. They audience will learn that ingredients they are safe and cost effective.
Journalist: A person who writes any information to present o report to a group. Example journalist how writes about fashion industry he needs to know the current fashion trends, beauty products and the latest design in the market. His job mainly is to bring forward their thoughts and ideas about current fashion scenario or conducting interviews of celebrities and important people in the fashion industry also other mediums like television, magazine, and present to the audience what is the fashion in clothing and make your point of view about the suits or dress must people wear to the occasion for example in the Oscars awards bring the viewer who was the best and worst dressed of the night.
In ethical issues: For example a person of integrity who bring highest standards of ethics to his work every day. Lapses in workplace ethics result from inappropriate officer behavior such as insider expense account fraud sexual harassment, and involvement in conflicts of interest. Lapses in work place ethics can occur because of simple issues such as toilet paper, copy machines, and lunch signup list.

When somebody call sick to the supervisor because it’s a beautiful day and you decide to go to the beach.
Somebody who works in a restaurant in which wait staff tips are shared equality and you withhold a portion of you tips from the common pot before the tips
