Is it possible?
Time traveling is surprisingly possible. In fact, you could take a leap into the future! We can't go back in time though. However, time travel is really complicated. There have been many theories of how it could be possible.
Theories
Einstein suggested the existence of wormholes in 1935 along with a scientist named Nathan Rosen. It's called the Einstein-Rosen bridge. Stephen Hawking and Kip Throne are well known for their contributions to the wormhole theory. Throne who is also a scientist helped Christian Nolan with the science behind the Interstellar. Throne had suggested a wormhole could be made into a time machine in the late 1980s.

Some types of wormholes allow you to travel through time in different directions. Some major caveats for using this method is you would need to find a method for creating a wormhole. Once, that's accomplished, the wormhole would only allow people to go far back in time as it was created. You'd also need to move one of the mouths of the wormhole at the speed of light. Throne and his colleagues assumed that advanced objects would produce this action by pulling on the right mouth using gravity or electronically. However that is not possible right now.
Time Dilation
The most exciting theory is the aforementioned effect called time dilation. Scientists based technology on this for decades, an experiment finally proved that time dilation is a real thing. It's the thing that would let us travel in to the future.
What is time dilation?
Time dilation refers to the idea that time passes more slowly for a moving clock than a stationary clock. The amount of gravity also affects the difference in elapsed time. The more gravity and velocity the greater difference in time. An example of where time dilation is used is in GPS satellites. Surprisingly, there are 24 satellites that find your location and based on how long time-stamped information travel to and from the device, the GPS chip in your phone
