The content of both documents, Accounts of the Wounded Knee Massacre (1890s) and the Black Elk, Account of the Wounded Knee Massacre,1890 were about the horrible killings that took place during the Wounded Knee Massacre. Many innocent people, mostly women, and children were killed during this horrible massacre. The first document is a general overview of the massacre, while the second document is a first person account of the massacre written by Black Elk himself. The first document talks about the killing of over 200 Native American men, women, and children at a reservation that was located along Wounded Knee Creek. The document states that, “A number of longstanding issues on the reservation contributed to the tension prior to the massacre.”
