The Lake Catholic wrestling team finished their regular dual meet season with a record of nine­five. This was accomplished by the strong, determined efforts of each individual wrestler. The team was supported by strong leadership from team captains Brad Taton,
Jimmy Szep, and Anthony Tutolo.
When asked how his season was going, Brad replied, “Pretty good, I have had some ups and downs, but when I stick to what I know I can do best, everything falls into place.” He also said that his expectation for the rest of his season was a high place on the podium at states and using hard work and dedication to go as far as possible. Brad’s personal record this season was 25­10, which is definitely something to be proud of.
Another key member of the team is senior captain, Jimmy Szep. His incredible record of 30­4 speaks volumes about his skill as a wrestler. This year, he has placed very high in numerous tournaments, at both the local and national level. His desires for the rest of the season are to place high or win states while finishing the year off on a strong note. When
Jimmy was asked about what he has learned in the Lake Catholic wrestling program, he responded, “I have grown a lot as a leader and a family member. The program really stresses how to be a part of a family. It has helped my work ethic and increased my dedication.”
