In the Year of Wonders, Anna Frith is the main character that is going through a tough time, which is the plague of London. Frith was known as a housemaid and a healer; she is also very interested in God and religion. She seems to be the most reserve and caring individual out of all the characters in the story. Anna did not start to feel like the outcast until the people started to die one by one. “I will give you a cooling fraught to take up with you,”(pg.32). This was the moment where she was trying to treat everyone who had the disease. The part that really broke her down was when she lost her children, Tom and Jamie, to the disease.
